Medical Marijuana Awareness Day Jacksonville
Medical Marijuana Awareness Days are a series of conferences held throughout Florida with a goal to educate the public on the benefits of of medical marijuana with an accessible and balanced platform.
Date October 23, 2017
Session 1pm-4pm, 6pm-9pm
Venue Aloft Tapestry Park
As attendees entered the room, Lee and Carolyn were stationed at this entrance table to answer questions, give handouts, and encourage attendees to write down questions throughout the conference to put in the Q&A bag to be answered in the final conference session. Clinic appointments could be made at this table between presentations for convenience, but were in no way mandatory.
Common Patient Questions
The presentation pictured included a section answering common questions and debunking misconceptions about medical marijuana. According to patient data from the speaker’s clinic, only about 15% of medical cannabis patients want the euphoria, or “high”, associated with marijuana; rather, most patients want symptom relief while still being able to function and work.
In order to give patients a better understanding of the role of medical cannabis dispensaries and the differences between them, representatives such as those pictured from Surterra Wellness and Aphria give short introductions between presentations to showcase the values and focus of each company.
